I was commissioned to make a panel for a bathroom. I came up with the idea of an underwater world that suggests a playful interaction between a variety of sea creatures.
In the centre is a spiral of small red fish that are being watched by much larger angel fish, hiding in the coral. They in turn are framed by shoals of jellyfish and yellow butterfly fish, whose paths are purposeful yet separate from the spectacle above. On the sea bed a crab and jellyfish react to the rhythmic movements of the water above.
The detail in this window was achieved by using tracing paint to define the features of the sea creatures and shading paint to give them more form.
