Abstract Panels for 1950's Houses
The hall had an inner door with side and top panels that all contained plain frosted glass, which completely obscured the view out.
The client wanted vibrant colour introduced into the hall and for me to come up with a design that would screen rather than shut out the view.
In accordance with the client's budget, I decided on a simple geometric pattern of clear glass pieces interspersed with 'dots' of vivid coloured glass. Warm reds and yellows radiate out from the door gradating into cooler greens, blues and violets in the surrounding panels. The clear glass is a mix of mouth blown and machine rolled glass, providing more visual texture to the overall effect.
For the landing window commission the same principal was used but with a random placement of primary colours.
